During an extraordinary virtual meeting of the GCC Agriculture and Food Security Agents Committee, Saudi Arabia reiterated its commitment to addressing challenges in agricultural development and food security, emphasizing the importance of sustaining the agricultural sector locally, regionally, and internationally. Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, Engineer Ahmed Al-Eyada, highlighted the kingdom's dedication to achieving agricultural and food sustainability and outlined strategies to realize the goals of the food security strategy. The meeting also involved assessing the current food security situation in the GCC, conducting standard comparisons for regional cooperation efforts, and discussing the development of the food security strategy, with GCC countries showcasing advancements in agricultural GDP and food price index.
