Zawya: Qatar: Ministry introduces 13 new e-services for agricultural sector
14 June 2024

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Municipality, through its Agricultural Affairs Department, has launched 13 new electronic services aimed at streamlining procedures and enhancing efficiency in the agricultural sector. These services, accessible through the ministry's website, cover a range of permits, including those for importing fruits and vegetables, plants and seedlings, palm trees and offshoots, as well as natural wood and plant parts. Additionally, permits for natural green and dry grain fodder, fertilizers, cut flowers, honeybees, pesticides, and restricted-use fertilizers are included. The online application process ensures swift approval from the relevant department, aligning with the Ministry's digital transformation strategy. This initiative not only saves time and effort for applicants but also contributes to building an agricultural database, reducing paper transactions, and advancing Qatar's National Development Strategy 2024-2030 within the framework of Qatar National Vision 2030. The Ministry's broader project aims to develop 400 digital services, facilitating smart and automated access for the public and companies across various sectors, including municipalities, urban planning, agriculture, and fisheries. Leveraging advanced technologies like blockchain, big data analytics, machine learning, and AI, the project underscores Qatar's commitment to providing seamless and secure services, enhancing user experience and operational efficiency while embracing smart city solutions.
