The Director General of IOFS, HE Prof. Yerlan Alimzhanuly Baidaulet at the closing ceremony of the 2nd International Forum on Agri-Biotechnology:
“This forum has provided a platform for experts, policymakers, scientists, and stakeholders from Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation ( OIC ) to come together and address critical challenges facing agri-biotechnology and food security in the context of climate change.
Throughout the sessions, we delved into various aspects of agri-biotechnology, covering areas such as green biotechnology, breeding tools, microbial biotechnology, food biotechnology, and animal biotechnology. We witnessed the presentation of cutting-edge biotechnologies and explored the potential of plant gene banking to conserve genetic resources for future generations. The discussions on breeding tools shed light on the importance of advanced techniques in enhancing crop resilience, yield, and nutritional quality. The role of microbial biotechnology in promoting sustainable agriculture and mitigating climate change impacts was also extensively examined. Moreover, the exploration of food biotechnology showcased innovative solutions for food processing, preservation, and nutritional enhancement. Lastly, we explored the potentials of animal biotechnology in improving livestock productivity and resilience to climate-related challenges.”
