The second working group addressed challenges related to ceasefire implementation and the protection of civilians. Griffiths highlighted the devastating impact of the conflict on Gaza's infrastructure and underscored the need for immediate measures to address the humanitarian fallout. Participants emphasized the importance of removing obstacles to aid delivery, including unexploded ordnance and damaged infrastructure. Griffiths reaffirmed the essential role of UNRWA in providign vital services to the population and called for enhanced support for the agency's efforts. Lastly, Griffiths outlined the discussions of the third working group, which focused on early recovery priorities in Gaza. Participants recognized the immense scale of destruction in the region and emphasized the importance of planning for reconstruction and recovery efforts. Griffiths underscored the need for comprehensive plans to restore essential services, provide shelter, and support livelihoods in Gaza. He emphasized the critical role of UNRWA in the early recovery phase and called for sustained international support to address the long-term needs of the population.
