A study tour to Turkey was organized for specialists from Turkmenistan to learn about preventing land degradation and combating desertification, within the framework of the UNDP/GEF project and FAO project. The Turkmen delegation included representatives from key ministries and departments. During the six-day visit, they visited demonstration sites focusing on soil fertility improvement, sustainable agriculture, afforestation, water-saving technologies, and community efforts to prevent desertification. The tour aimed to exchange knowledge and best practices to address land management challenges in the Aral Sea basin and beyond.
