Kazakh Water Experts Complete Technical Study Visit to Türkiye with IOFS Support
01 November 2025
As a direct continuation of the successful Training Program on Digital Solutions for Efficient Water Channel Management in Agriculture held in Astana on 19-20 June 2025 and the Regional Training on Governance and Digital Solutions for Sustainable Irrigation and Water Management, held on 22–24 October 2025 in Astana, the Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS) has facilitated a high-level technical study visit to Adana, Republic of Türkiye, for senior experts from the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The visit was hosted by the State Hydraulic Works (DSİ) of Türkiye, and focused on transferring practical know-how and advanced technical experience in the areas of:
  • Canal automation and remote monitoring systems
  • Tariff policy and operational cost recovery models
  • Performance of irrigation unions in service delivery
  • Field applications of digital irrigation control systems
The Kazakh delegation engaged directly with Turkish engineers and water managers during field inspections of the Seyhan Regulator, Yedigöze Dam, and the İmamoğlu Irrigation Automation System, gaining practical insight into Türkiye’s experience with scalable, data-driven solutions for water distribution and regulation.

This program builds on the technical foundation laid during the Astana training and reflects IOFS’s commitment to long-term capacity development and institutional partnership with Member States.
