The Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) has vowed to support an International Food Safety and Food Quality Conference due to be held at S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University (KATRU) in Astana on September 20-22, 2023.The Event is jointly organized by KATRU and Russia’s People’s Friendship University (RUDN).
Over 40 eminent food scientists, including Nobel Laureates, from many countries as well as food quality experts and business leaders from around the world will participate in the Conference. Ministers and representatives of Russian and Kazakhstan ministries of agriculture, ambassadors, university rectors, and professionals will attend the Conference.
The advisor to the KATRU Rector Prof. Kanat M.Tireuov, on strategy, global engagement, and communications, Mr. Muhammad Sheraz, visited the IOFS office in Astana https://www.iofs.org.kz/ on Wednesday to officially invite the IOFS Director General H.E Prof. Yerlan Alimzhanuly Baidaulet and his team to the Conference. Mr. Sheraz and his colleague Ms. Saltanat Kaliyeva also held a detailed meeting with the Professor Dr. Zulfiqar Ali, Director of Programs and Projects Department and the Advisor of this Department Dr. Ismail Mohamed Abdelhamid on the Conference program.
KATRU representative informed the IOFS team about the Conference's aims, objectives, major themes and topics, and other details. Endorsing the Conference, the IOFS leadership said that the FQFS Astana fully falls under the IOFS agenda and its food safety program, therefore, IOFS, an international organization representing 57 countries will support the KATRU-RUDN noble and timely initiative.
The IOFS expressed its willingness to partner with KATRU and RUDN in organizing the upcoming conference.Mr. Sheraz thanked the IOFS on behalf of KATRU Rector Prof. Kanat Tireuov and said that the IOFS support will be crucial to the success of the Conference that will also highlight Kazakhstan’s commitment to ensuring food security, food safety, and food quality.
