24 April 2026
The Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS) participated in the International Agricultural Exhibition in Morocco (SIAM) 2026, held in Meknes, one of the largest agricultural exhibitions in Africa and a major platform for agricultural cooperation, innovation, and investment.
The IOFS delegation was composed of Dr. Ismail Abdelhamid, Director of Projects Department, and Dr. Abdelaziz Hajjaji, Programme Manager. During the event, the delegation attended the official opening ceremony, and the high-level ministerial meetings, and the Ministerial Meeting of the Adaptation of African Agriculture (AAA) Initiative, which focused on climate resilience and sustainable agricultural development in Africa.
On the sidelines of SIAM, the IOFS delegation held a series of strategic meetings with the Ministry of Agriculture of Morocco to strengthen ongoing cooperation, as well as with the Minister of Agriculture of The Gambia and other African ministers to explore future collaboration opportunities.
The delegation also met with the IsDB Hub in Rabat to discuss joint programmes in agriculture and water management, with AOAD regarding the implementation of the joint action plan for 2026, and with ACSAD, ICESCO, and ICARDA to advance cooperation in climate-smart agriculture, research, and capacity building.
IOFS participation in SIAM 2026 reflects the Organisation’s continued commitment to strengthening partnerships and advancing food security across Africa and the wider OIC region.
