Burabay, Kazakhstan — 14–15 February 2026 - The Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS) participated in the international livestock producers’ forum Dala.Camp Forum 2026, held at Rixos Burabay, Kazakhstan. The IOFS delegation was led by Director General H.E. Berik Aryn. The Organization’s participation took place at the invitation of Mr. Mereke Taitubayev, Head of the Subregional Representation for Central Asia of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH).
Held under the theme “Cattle in Kazakhstan’s Meat Industry: A Roadmap for the Future,” the forum brought together representatives of government institutions, international organizations, industry associations, financial institutions, investors, scientists, and livestock producers. Discussions focused on strategic directions for the development of Kazakhstan’s meat sector, including export potential, investment models, productivity enhancement, veterinary integrity, and strengthening the livestock value chain.
Director General Berik Aryn participated as a speaker in a panel session dedicated to Kazakhstan’s positioning in the global meat market. In his remarks, he highlighted the growing global demand for meat products and the significant opportunities for countries with strong agricultural resource bases. He emphasized that many OIC Member States remain net importers of meat, creating potential for expanding intra-OIC trade and strengthening food security cooperation.
Berik Aryn also underscored Kazakhstan’s comparative advantages, including extensive pasture resources, favorable geographic location between major consumer markets, and growing livestock production capacity. At the same time, he noted that long-term success in export markets depends on reliability of supply, consistent quality, compliance with international veterinary standards, and a strong reputation as a trusted supplier.
The Director General reaffirmed the role of IOFS as a specialized institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in facilitating cooperation among Member States in agriculture and food security. He highlighted ongoing initiatives aimed at supporting trade development, harmonization of standards, and strengthening sustainable livestock production systems across the OIC region.
The forum served as an important platform for dialogue between public and private stakeholders and contributed to strengthening partnerships aimed at enhancing Kazakhstan’s role as a regional producer of high-quality meat products and a reliable contributor to global food security.
