Ankara, 12–13 May 2026 – Upon the guidance of His Excellency Ambassador Berik Aryn, Director General of the Islamic Organization of Food Security (IOFS), Mr. Abdula Manafi Mutualo, Chief Multilateral Relations Officer, represented the Organization at the 42nd Meeting of the Follow-up Committee of the COMCEC, held on 12–13 May 2026 in Ankara, Republic of Türkiye.
During the deliberations under Agenda Item 9 on “Increasing Productivity of Agriculture Sector and Sustaining Food Security,” the IOFS representative presented the Organization’s key activities and achievements implemented following the 41st COMCEC Ministerial Session held in November 2025 in Istanbul.
The representative also highlighted the accession of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Republic of Uzbekistan to the IOFS, bringing the Organization’s membership to 43 Member States. On the sidelines of the Meeting, the IOFS delegation held consultations with OIC institutions and Member States to explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation in food security and agricultural development.
