IOFS Director General Participates in Opening of Business Leaders’ Summit on the Sidelines of 41st COMCEC Ministerial Session

Istanbul, Turkiye - 2 November 2025 – The Director General of the Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS), H.E. Ambassador Berik Aryn, participated in the Opening Ceremony of the Business Leaders’ Summit held in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye, on the margins of the 41st Session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC).

The event, organized by the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD) and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye TOBB, brought together ministers, senior officials, and leading private-sector actors to advance cooperation for sustainable economic development across the OIC region.

The Opening Ceremony featured high-level statements, including by H.E. Mr. M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of TOBB; H.E. Mr. Abdullah Saleh Kamel, President of ICCD; H.E. Dr. Taha Ayhan, President of ICYF; and keynote remarks by H.E. Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser, Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB). H.E. Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, Minister of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye, delivered the opening address.

In addition to the formal programme, the Director General attended the official dinner hosted in honour of participants, where H.E. Mr. Cevdet Yılmaz, Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye, was the guest of honour. During the roundtable introductions, Ambassador Aryn had the opportunity to present the mandate and mission of the IOFS, highlight the Organization’s strategic initiatives in advancing food security across the OIC region, and express deep appreciation to the Government and leadership of Türkiye for their continued support and partnership.

On the sidelines of the Summit, Ambassador Aryn held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. António Grispos, Secretary of Commerce of the Republic of Mozambique, during which both sides highlighted opportunities to deepen IOFS–Mozambique cooperation, especially in agricultural development, value-chain enhancement, and private-sector engagement in food security initiatives.

The participation of the IOFS leadership in the Business Leaders’ Summit reaffirms the Organization’s commitment to advancing innovative and collaborative approaches to food security, supporting investment-driven agricultural transformation, and strengthening economic resilience across the OIC region.
