Astana, Kazakhstan | 23 September 2026 – Director General of the Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS), H.E. Ambassador Berik Aryn, met with H.E. Han Chunlin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Kazakhstan, at the Embassy of China in Astana.
The meeting served as an opportunity to exchange views on strengthening collaboration between the IOFS and the People's Republic of China in advancing sustainable agriculture, food security and scientific innovation across IOFS Member States.
During the discussions, the Director General highlighted the growing partnership between China and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), underpinned by regular high-level engagement and expanding cooperation in areas including science, technology, education and sustainable development. In this regard, he noted the considerable potential for expanding collaboration between the IOFS and Chinese institutions in areas of mutual interest.
The parties exchanged views on opportunities to advance agricultural research, innovation, technology transfer, and the implementation of development initiatives that contribute to enhancing food security and sustainable agricultural systems across the OIC region. The meeting also underscored the importance of international partnerships in addressing shared global challenges.
Ambassador Han Chunlin expressed his readiness to support the IOFS in advancing its initiatives and to facilitate communication and engagement with relevant Chinese authorities and institutions.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to maintaining close dialogue and exploring practical avenues for future partnership.
