Astana, Kazakhstan – 18 November 2025 – The Director General of the Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS), H.E. Ambassador Berik Aryn, was received today by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Yermek Kosherbayev, for a high-level meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and the IOFS.
During the discussion, the Director General expressed appreciation for Kazakhstan’s steadfast support as the host country of the IOFS Secretariat, highlighting the nation’s leadership in promoting food security, sustainable agriculture, and humanitarian solidarity across the OIC region and beyond. H.E. Ambassador Aryn provided an overview of the Organisation’s ongoing initiatives, including its expanding programme portfolio in Central Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, as well as key priorities outlined in the IOFS Strategic Vision.
Minister Kosherbayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to advancing multilateral efforts aimed at building resilient food systems and addressing emerging global challenges. He welcomed the IOFS’s growing engagement with international partners and stressed the importance of anchoring regional stability through coordinated action on food security.
Both sides agreed to continue close collaboration to enhance the impact of IOFS programmes globally and to further elevate Kazakhstan’s role in shaping the international food security agenda.
