IOFS Director General Holds Meeting with Ambassador of Türkiye to Kazakhstan

[Astana, Kazakhstan] - On 08 February 2024, the Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), H.E. Ambassador Askar Mussinov, welcomed H.E. Mustafa Kapucu, the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Republic of Kazakhstan, to the IOFS headquarters. The change of views between the two dignitaries marked a pivotal step in strengthening ties and exploring new collaborative opportunities.

The meeting served as a moment to commemorate the first anniversary of the 2023 Türkiye earthquake, with Ambassador Mussinov expressing condolences and admiration for the resilience of the Turkish people.

Discussions also highlighted the importance of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum and the upcoming 3rd Meeting of Ministers of Agriculture of the Organization for Turkic States for regional collaboration.

Furthermore, Key topics included strengthening cooperation with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and TAGEM to enhance agricultural productivity and address challenges through climate-smart solutions. Ambassador Mussinov praised Türkiye's humanitarian efforts, especially in Afghanistan and Gaza and the Flour for Humanity program. The interest of the IOFS in Türkiye's support for logistics through the Disaster and emergency Management Authority AFAD reflects a strong commitment to humanitarian assistance.

Additionally, the Director-General of IOFS informed Ambassador Mustafa Kapucu about the forthcoming 7th General Assembly, which is scheduled to take place in Astana in the summer of 2024. He stressed the importance of the participation of His Excellency, the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, underlining the valuable impact his attendance would have on the assembly.
