12 December 2025

Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia — During his official mission to Jeddah, H.E. Ambassador Berik Aryn, Director General of the Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS), held a productive bilateral meeting at the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Headquarters, aimed at advancing cooperation in the fields of food security and sustainable development.

Ambassador Aryn met with Dr. Issa Faye, Director General of Global Practice and Partnerships at IsDB, and Mr. Idrissa Dia, Director of the Economic and Social Infrastructure Department. The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between IOFS and IsDB, with particular emphasis on aligning IOFS priority programmes with the IsDB programming cycle for 2026–2028. The meeting explored opportunities for joint initiatives and coordinated interventions that respond to the evolving needs of OIC Member States.

Both sides agreed to soon dispatch an IOFS technical team to the IsDB Headquarters to engage in detailed technical consultations and jointly develop a concrete action plan. Following the finalization of this framework, the partners expressed their readiness to move toward practical implementation of agreed activities and projects on the ground.

The exchange reaffirmed the shared commitment of IOFS and IsDB to advancing impactful, results-oriented partnerships that support resilient food systems, sustainable development, and inclusive growth across the OIC geography.
