Astana, Kazakhstan – 25 April 2026 – H.E. Ambassador Berik Aryn, Director General of the Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS), together with members of the IOFS Secretariat, participated in a tree-planting environmental action held within the framework of the nationwide “Taza Kazakhstan” campaign.
At School No. 99 in Astana, the IOFS team planted birch and pine saplings, making a practical contribution to the greening of the capital, the expansion of green spaces, and the creation of a healthier urban environment.
The “Taza Kazakhstan” environmental month aims to promote a culture of cleanliness, responsible environmental stewardship, and greater public awareness for the condition of shared urban spaces. IOFS’s participation in this initiative reflects the Organisation’s continued commitment to ecological sustainability, responsible use of natural resources, and support for practical environmental action.
Commenting on the occasion, Ambassador Berik Aryn noted that sustainable development begins with concrete actions at the local level and emphasized that urban greening, land restoration, and environmental protection are closely linked to the broader agenda of food security and climate resilience.
Participation in the National Subbotnik also aligns with IOFS’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable land use, environmental awareness, and resilient ecosystems for future generations.
The Islamic Organisation for Food Security expresses its appreciation to the Akimat of Astana for organizing this important civic initiative and reaffirms its readiness to support efforts aimed at building a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable Kazakhstan.
