Astana, Kazakhstan – On 22 December 2025, the Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS) held virtually its 15th Executive Board Meeting. The meeting brought together high-level representatives from member states to review the Organisation’s achievements, strategic initiatives, and future plans within the implementation of its vision and mission of strengthening food security across the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) region.
The Executive Board Members included the Chairman, Dr. Masoud Jarallah Al-Marri from the State of Qatar; the Honorary Chairman, Eng. Abdulaziz A. Alhowaish from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ambassador Alibek Bakayev - as a permanent member; Mr. Amir Mohyuddin from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan; Mr. Mohammed Saeed Sultan Al Nuaimi from the United Arab Emirates; Mr. Musa M. Humma from the Republic of The Gambia; Ms. Nigina Anvar from the Republic of Tajikistan; Mr. Maina Hamadou from the Republic of Cameroon; and the Director General of IOFS Ambassador Berik Aryn, as a non-voting Member.
The session was opened by H. E. Dr. Masoud Jarallah Al-Marri, Chairman of the Executive Board, followed by the report of Ambassador Berik Aryn, Director General of IOFS. The Board members were presented with the Secretariat’s draft action plan for 2026, updates on the implementation of key programs, financial matters, and preparations for the 7th General Assembly.
During the meeting, the Executive Board also reviewed developments regarding IOFS Regional Offices, the outcomes of the IOFS Strategy Vision 2031 Review, and brainstormed on initiatives aimed at improving the internal daily work and response to diverse crisis and challenges Member States in the domain of food security and agricultural development. The session concluded with the adoption of the Report and the announcement of dates and venues for future solemn gatherings of the IOFS.
In addition, the Secretariat presented an update on the activities of the International Islamic Food Processing Association (IFPA), an IOFS subsidiary. Mr. Saleh Lootah, Chief Executive Officer of IFPA, highlighted completed activities, ongoing work, and planned initiatives focused on strengthening food processing, value addition, and private-sector engagement across OIC Member States.
The meeting concluded with agreement that the Secretariat would prepare and circulate the official report of the 15th Executive Board Meeting, incorporating the approved decisions and recommendations.
