Astana, Kazakhstan - The Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), in collaboration with the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan, Atameken, successfully hosted its second webinar on Animal Forage Production, with a special focus on alfalfa. The webinar, held on 11 July 2024, centered on the critical topic of water management for alfalfa crop production.
Mr. Hasan Yurt, President of the Konya Karapınar Alfalfa Agricultural Producers Association, and Prof. Dr. Süleyman Soylu, Head of the Department of Field Crops - Cereals and Food Legumes at Selcuk University, were the keynote speakers. They shared their insights and expertise on alfalfa production and water management, drawing from both scientific research and practical experience in the Konya province of the Republic of Türkiye.
The webinar attracted a diverse audience primarily composed of local farmers specializing in alfalfa production. This topic holds significant importance for farmers in Kazakhstan, given the growing interest in enhancing domestic animal forage supplies and exploring export opportunities.
