IOFS and WFP Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Strengthen Cooperation on Food Security
29 October 2025

Rome, Italy - 29 October 2025 – The Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS) and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) have formalized their partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at WFP Headquarters in Rome.

The MoU was signed by Amb. Khusrav Noziri, Assistant Director General of IOFS, and Ms. Natasha Nadazdin, Officer-in-Charge of the Global Partner Countries Division of WFP.

Prior to the signing ceremony, both sides held constructive discussions on establishing and strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly in supporting food security and resilience in common Member States.

Under the new agreement, IOFS and WFP will collaborate on initiatives aimed at enhancing food systems, improving agricultural production and value chains, supporting humanitarian responses, and fostering knowledge exchange and policy dialogue. The partnership will also promote climate-resilient agricultural practices and contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially Zero Hunger (SDG 2) and Climate Action (SDG 13).

The signing of this MoU marks an important step in reinforcing coordination between the OIC institution and the UN’s leading humanitarian agency in the global fight against hunger and malnutrition.
