IOFS and TİKA Reaffirm Commitment to Joint Programming for Food Security
15 July 2026

The Islamic Organisation for Food Security held a high-level consultative meeting with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) in Ankara on 30 June 2026. Dr. Memduh Ünal, Director of the Programs Department of IOFS, met with Dr. Ali Ercan, Vice President of TİKA, to review the state of IOFS–TİKA cooperation and to identify concrete areas of joint programming for the 2026–2027 period.

The meeting formed part of a broader IOFS institutional mission to the Republic of Türkiye aimed at advancing the implementation of the IOFS Program of Work for 2026 and laying the groundwork for the 2027 Program.

During the meeting, TİKA expressed its willingness to present IOFS as a partner in Afghanistan-related food security and agricultural assistance.

The two sides also identified a range of OIC Member States where joint programming could be advanced. TİKA reaffirmed its preference for on-the-ground, project-based cooperation.

The meeting confirmed the strong institutional alignment between IOFS and TİKA, and both parties committed to follow up with concrete project proposals and a structured work plan in the coming weeks.
