Astana, Kazakhstan - 24 September 2025 – The Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) and QazTrade Center for Trade Policy Development signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to expand cooperation in trade facilitation and promotion of food security initiatives.
The agreement was signed by Ambassador Berik Aryn, Director General of IOFS, and Mr. Aitmukhammed Aldazharov, Director General of QazTrade, during an official ceremony at the IOFS headquarters.
The MoU establishes a framework for closer collaboration between IOFS and QazTrade to advance trade and investment opportunities in the agrifood sector, support export diversification, and enhance the resilience of food systems in Kazakhstan and across IOFS Member States. It also envisions joint efforts in capacity building, research, and knowledge exchange on trade-related aspects of food security.
Speaking at the ceremony, H.E. Berik Aryn emphasized that “this partnership reflects IOFS’s commitment to mobilizing trade as a driver of sustainable food systems, while supporting Kazakhstan’s role as host country and strategic partner of the Organization.”
Mr. Aitmukhammed Aldazharov welcomed the signing of the MoU, highlighting that “QazTrade stands ready to work hand-in-hand with IOFS to unlock new opportunities for Kazakh agrifood exports, strengthen value chains, and expand regional and international markets.”
The collaboration marks another important milestone in IOFS’s mission to foster food security and intra-OIC trade, ensuring that collective efforts deliver tangible benefits for producers, traders, and consumers alike.
