Astana, Kazakhstan | 22 September 2026 – H.E. Amb. Berik Aryn, Director General of the Islamic Organisation for Food Security, received H.E. Amb. Nurgali Arystanov, Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan Agency of International Development “KazAID”, at the IOFS Headquarters in Astana to discuss expanding cooperation in support of sustainable development and food security.
Discussions focused on developing a multi-year cooperation programme in food security and climate-smart agriculture, as well as establishing a trilateral partnership model involving Kazakhstan, KazAID, and IOFS to support OIC Member States.
The two sides also discussed cooperation in capacity building, agricultural innovation, and professional training, including potential pilot initiatives for beneficiary countries. They agreed to establish a joint working group to identify priority projects and prepare a roadmap for future collaboration.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of the IOFS and KazAID to strengthening sustainable agriculture, enhancing food security, and delivering impactful development cooperation across OIC Member States.
