Astana, 18 September 2025 – The Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during an official visit to the IOFS headquarters.
The agreement was signed during the visit of H.E. Dr. Salim M. Al-Malik, Director General of ICESCO, who was warmly received by H.E. Ambassador Berik Aryn, Director General of IOFS. The two leaders reaffirmed their strong partnership and agreed to align IOFS’s expertise in food security with ICESCO’s leadership in education, science, and culture.
A joint technical team will soon prepare an action plan to translate the MoU into concrete initiatives, with particular focus on the Africa Food Security Initiative. Joint efforts will aim to address hunger, build climate resilience, and empower youth across OIC Member States.
This cooperation underscores the shared commitment of IOFS and ICESCO to advance the Sustainable Development Goals and strengthen solidarity across the Islamic world.
