Astana, Kazakhstan | 13 August 2026 – H.E. Ambassador Berik Aryn, Director General of the Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS), received Mr. Muhammad Ur Rehman Rahmani, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Afghanistan in Astana, at the IOFS Headquarters to discuss opportunities for advancing cooperation under the Afghanistan Food Security Programme (AFSP).
The meeting reviewed the progress of IOFS initiatives in Afghanistan and explored prospects for future collaboration in sustainable agriculture, food security, agricultural value chains, and post-harvest development. The two sides also discussed strengthening technical coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Afghanistan to identify priority projects and facilitate their further development.
Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to expanding practical cooperation aimed at supporting Afghanistan's agricultural development and enhancing food security through partnership, technical expertise, and engagement with international development partners.
