3 March 2025 - The Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), and the Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) organized the webinar "Exploring the Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Security Nexus for Sustainable Development in OIC Countries". The event brought together experts, Scientists, and stakeholders to discuss integrated strategies for managing water, energy, and food resources.
The webinar emphasized the urgent need for collaboration and innovation to address climate change and food security challenges in OIC Member States.
The WEF Nexus is an essential framework for addressing the complex interdependencies between these three critical sectors. As climate change, population growth, and urbanization continue to place immense pressure on natural resources, the need for sustainable and innovative management solutions has become increasingly urgent. This webinar provided a platform for knowledge exchange, policy dialogue, and the promotion of best practices in resource optimization, fostering cross-sectoral collaboration for a resilient and food-secure future.
