Gulf Agriculture: Cost-effective and safe water reuse empowers growers to achieve more with less
04 June 2024

The horticulture industry faces significant challenges due to global water scarcity, requiring innovative solutions to balance efficient water use with optimal crop production. On-site green oxidation emerges as a cost-effective, safe, and sustainable method for water reuse in greenhouse operations, effectively addressing these challenges. Recirculating irrigation water, while conserving water, can harbor pathogens that threaten crops. Traditional disinfection methods often leave harmful residues, impacting crop health. On-site green oxidant generation, such as HPNow's GOgen™ systems, provides a solution by generating Peroxide UltraPure™, effectively eliminating waterborne pathogens and promoting plant health without introducing harmful residues. This system not only protects plants against pathogens but also maintains clean water, promotes root development, and improves disease resistance without the need for hazardous chemicals. Additionally, it reduces operational costs and ensures a safer environment for growers and ecosystems. Real-world examples demonstrate its effectiveness in reducing disease incidence and improving crop health across various sectors.
