Iran's Deputy Director of the Agricultural Ministry, Hamed Najafi Alamdarlou, revealed that effective planning resulted in a $2 billion boost in agricultural exports last year. The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration reported a total export of $6.2 billion, marking a $1 billion increase compared to the previous year. Importantly, imports in the agricultural sector decreased by $1 billion, resulting in a $2 billion improvement in the trade balance. Rouhollah Latifi, spokesperson of Iran's House of Industry, Mine, and Trade, highlighted a 22% increase in exports of food, crops, and agricultural products in the first nine months of the Iranian calendar year, amounting to $4.3 billion. The top export destinations included Iraq, UAE, Russia, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, collectively constituting 68% of Iran's exports in this sector. China, India, Turkey, and other countries also featured prominently in Iran's agricultural export landscape.
