Food waste in Saudi Arabia reaches 33%

The Saudi Minister for Agriculture and Chairman of SAGO stated that food waste costs Saudi Arabia over $10 billion a year, the Saudi Press Agency reports. In order to reduce its negative impact on health, the environment, and the economy, the minister called for the elaboration of an effective mechanism of food waste reduction. SAGO is also working with a local company to promote food loss reduction under the Saudi national programs.
